All-State Requirements for District

·        100% plus 5 new members

·        Commander, and/or Sr. Vice, and/or Jr. Vice Must attend one retention training

·        Provide a retention plan to the Department Retention Chair by 1 September 2020

1.   Participate in three retention events in your District with the Posts.

2.   Provide the Department Chair a list of participating Posts for each event

3.   List the Post, number of participants, number of calls made, or door knocks, and the number of members retained.

Note:  All Program Chairs are listed on the last page of this plan.

·         Submit one Voice of Democracy entry to the VOD Department Chair. This year’s theme is:Is this the Country the Founders Envisioned  

1.   Ensure that the audio recording is of the proper length and can be played

2.   Ensure that the recording does not identify the student by name or by where       they are from

3.   Ensure that the entry form is complete

4.   Ensure that a head and shoulders photo is with the packet

·         Submit one Patriot Pen entry to the Patriot Pen Chair. This year’s theme is: What is Patriotism to Me

1.      Ensure that the written essay does not have their name on it or where they are from

2.      Ensure that the entry form is complete

3.      Ensure that a head and shoulders photo is with the packet

·         Submit one entry from any of the following three programs:

1.   Citizenship Education Teacher Award  (Elementary, Junior High, or High School)   to Department Chair (see note at the bottom of the last page of this plan)

2.   Public Servant and Safety nomination (EMT, Law Enforcement, Firefighter, or       Lifesaving) to the Department Chair

3.   Scout of the Year nomination to the Department Chair

·         Hold a fundraiser with the proceeds going to Veterans & Military Support Programs, or in lieu of a fundraiser make a $25 donation.


 

All-State Post Requirements

·         100% retention plus 2 new members

·         Convert 2 annual members to Life Members

·         Convert 1 annual or Life member to Legacy member

·         Commander, and /or Sr. Vice, and/or Jr. Vice Must attend one retention training

·         Conduct one retention event in your Post.  Provide Department Chair a report with number of members participating, number of contacts made, and number of members retained

·         Hold one Community based event that demonstrates the Veterans of Foreign Wars          commitment to improving the Community.  For example, this could be a cook-out for first responders, doing a fundraiser with proceeds going to a local charity, coordinating a Blood drive or anything that your membership can think of that will be of   benefit to the community.  Notify the Chief of Staff, Tim Von Bon, of your activity and I and/or my staff will make every effort to also attend.
