Heath Silcox served in the United States Army National Guard from 1995 to 2022, and works full time for the DOD from 2006 to Present, earning his VFW eligibility by serving in Operations Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. In recognition of his service, he received the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and numerous other medals and ribbons. In 2015, he earned the title of Utah Signal Soldier of the Year at Camp Williams, UT. In 2017, he was one of the first people in Utah to earn the Signal Corp Regimental Bronze Order of the Mercury award.
Heath joined the VFW in 2017 at Post 12087 in Riverton, Utah, where he maintains his Life membership.
