Brenda Warnshuis
Chaplain - Air Force

I was a Junior Girl back in the 1970's qualifying under my dad, William who served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966-68 and received a Purple Heart for injuries he received.

My Grandfather also served in the U.S. Army as an engineer in the European Theater during WWII.

I then re-applied under my husband Ken, who served in the U.S. Air Force during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, retiring in 2002 after 20 years.

I have been a current member for 6 Years and am Life Member, my home Auxiliary is Miller-Frazer Post 8307 Layton, Utah, where I am current Auxiliary President.

I joined the VFW Auxiliary most recently because I've always been passionate about supporting our veterans. Having been born the day after Independence Day, my love for our country and those who fought and continue to fight has always been a part of who I am. Growing up, I watched my grandmothers, mother, and aunt serve and now my sister in the VFW Auxiliary, inspiring me to follow in their footsteps.

I would love to be your mentor and cheerleader on your journey within the VFW Auxiliary.

I work for the Head Start/EHS Program for Davis School District and have a daughter, son and two grandsons.

The 250th Birthday of our Great Nation is upon us, and with that, celebrations with various pyrotechnics will be gracing the skies all over the United States. Except Utah!

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has issued an emergency executive order temporarily prohibiting the use of all personal fireworks statewide. The sweeping ban—enacted due to historic drought and explosive wildfire conditions—remains in effect through July 5.

While the governor's order allows local mayors to work with fire officials to designate strictly limited "safe" areas for discharge, most municipalities across the state have implemented strict restrictions.

Rather than risking dangerous fire starts and steep fines, officials are strongly encouraging the public to attend professionally organized, permitted city fireworks or drone displays.

Celebrate responsibly!
