The 250th Birthday of our Great Nation is upon us, and with that, celebrations with various pyrotechnics will be gracing the skies all over the United States. Except Utah!

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has issued an emergency executive order temporarily prohibiting the use of all personal fireworks statewide. The sweeping ban—enacted due to historic drought and explosive wildfire conditions—remains in effect through July 5.

While the governor's order allows local mayors to work with fire officials to designate strictly limited "safe" areas for discharge, most municipalities across the state have implemented strict restrictions.

Rather than risking dangerous fire starts and steep fines, officials are strongly encouraging the public to attend professionally organized, permitted city fireworks or drone displays.

Celebrate responsibly!
